Tommy Lee Jones seeks $10 million in 'No Country' lawsuit

SAN ANTONIO - Tommy Lee Jones is suing the makers of "No Country for Old Men" for more than $10 one thousand thousand the Oscar-winning actor claims he is owed for starring in the 2007 hit law-breaking thriller.

The cause against Paramount Pictures claims Jones was promised "significant box-office bonuses" and former compensation depending on the success of the moving-picture show, which went on to make more than than $160 million.

The moving picture, which is set in Texas and based on a critically acclaimed Cormac McCarthy novel, garnered four-spot Academy Awards, including "Best Picture."

A message left for Paramount Pictures on Saturday was not immediately returned. Jones declined comment through his publicist Jennifer Allen, the San Antonio Express-News newspaper reported.

"The paperwork stands for itself," Allen said.

The lawsuit was filed Thursday in Bexar County in San Antonio. N.M. Classics, Inc., a Paramount subsidiary company, is as well named in the lawsuit.

Jones, who played Sheriff Ed Tom Bell in the film, claims he was not nonrecreational promised bonuses and had expenses wrongly deducted. The suit says Jones was paid a reduced upfront fee in joining the film and his undertake had known errors, not corrected, earlier the moving-picture show was made.

Jones, 61, is asking an auditor be named to review financial records to determine how much he should be paid.

Ash: Pete keeps me grounded

PASS the bucket.
ASHLEE SIMPSON and PETE WENTZ are soin love, they forget
the rest of the world doesn't want to know.

Just days after the FALL OUT BOY bassist credited his fiance with
helping to cure his depression, JESSICA's younger sister revealed how
Pete keeps her "grounded".
Grounded ... Ashlee Simpson
The Outta My Head singer - who announced her engagement to the tattooed
musician last month - also reckons she surrounds herself with good people to
avoid ending up like troubled stars BRITNEY SPEARS and LINDSAY
LOHAN.

She said: "I don't see myself following the path those girls take. I'm
almost 24. I'm pretty together and I'm getting married.

"I wouldn't ever let myself get that way and I don't surround myself with
'yes' people. I think that's the most important thing.

"People don't control me or anything I do and I've never had that problem."

Notorious B.I.G.'s Family Allowed To Proceed With Lawsuit

LATEST: A federal judge has reinstated a wrongful death lawsuit brought against Los Angeles city officials by the family of slain rapper NOTORIOUS B.I.G. - five months after the case was originally thrown out of court.
In December (07), U.S. District Judge Florence Marie Cooper ruled the rap star's family members did not file a claim against the city and a disgraced Los Angeles cop, believed to be involved with the 1997 murder, by an agreed deadline.
The lawsuit alleged a former police detective and two partners were responsible for the drive-by shooting death of the rapper - real name Christopher Wallace.
But, according to court papers revealed on Thursday (08May08), the Wallace family successfully appealed, and now Cooper is giving them another chance to file a new lawsuit - as long as the paperwork is completed within 20 days.
This is the second time the Wallaces have tried to hold L.A. authorities to account for B.I.G.'s untimely demise - a judge declared a mistrial in a 2002 wrongful death case after learning Los Angeles police officials had withheld evidence.
The 24-year-old's death remains unsolved.
